There's a few quick and easy steps that anyone with a little bit of computer knowledge should be able to implement. First and foremost..
1. Be Careful What You Download- Many programs these days are filled with viruses and bugs that can damage your system. ALWAYS run an anti-virus program on your software program before you install it.
2. Stay Organized- Make notes of installed programs and software and keep instructions for everything you buy for your computer. You never know when you may need to refer back to it for help.
3. Be Patient- I know you're thinking, "Yeah Right!" This guy must be crazy. I'm losing my mind with these problems. But when the time comes to do updates, downloads, or installs read the directions very carefully and follow them accordingly. You may have caused the error without evening knowing it!
I hope these 3 tips helped you, but if you want more, read the rest of the blog and stay tuned for more information on how to fix your slow computer!

In my specific case of a Dell Inspiron 9100, I had to open all the fans and air grids up and clean them from dust accumulated in months. The performance increased dramatically!!!!
